On May 1st, Dr. Tavel introduced a new line of High Definition Lenses at all 19 locations throughout the state of Indiana.  We partnered with Augen (it means “eyes” in German), which is a great company that has a patented technology that helps you enjoy wide, clear natural vision with a lens that is typically thinner and lighter than your conventional lens.

Everything these days is focused on High Definition or HD.  The TV stations are going HD, they film in HD, they show movies in HD, etc.  What exactly does HD mean when it comes to lenses?  It means that with Dr. Tavel’s HD lenses you will have less distortion around the periphery of the lens, which means less visual fatigue and impressive clarity in all viewing directions.  Most lenses provide clear vision in the center of the lens, but there can be distortion as you get away from that center portion of the lens.  Dr. Tavel HD Lenses gradually flatten toward the edges of the lenses, eliminating distortion and providing a wide field of natural vision, very similar to the manner in which an HD television works.

One of the best ways to see this in action is to come see the demonstrator at one of our Dr. Tavel locations.  This small item will illustrate the difference between a conventional lens and our HD lens.  Once you see the difference in this, it is very hard to not want to see in HD.
