All polarized lenses have an extra layer specifically designed to absorb sun rays and reduce glare. Normally, light scatters in multiple directions before it enters your eye. Glare is light that gets reflected off surfaces like roads or water and then enters your eye and can obscure your vision. Polarized lenses absorb horizontal light wave patterns, while still allowing vertical wave patterns to pass through. Only allowing light to travel in one direction through polarized lenses eliminates glare. This process is similar to how a window blind works.
