When I talked to the staff and asked them what they did to help out this patient, they simply stated that they treated her like they do all of their patients, educating her on the glasses options and more specifically on the lens materials that best fit her prescription. Working with the patient to ensure they understand their Rx based on the eye examination they receive from the optometrist is critical. While we are in a retail environment and we are focused on selling glasses and contact lenses, we are first in the patient experience business and in the education business to ensure our patients feel good about their experience, understand their vision and ultimately know that we care about their eye health.
