Do you ever feel like your optometrist is speaking gibberish to you when you purchase glasses? We did too, and we are the ones who work in optometry industry.

It wasn’t until recently that we realized as a company, the promotions we have been using over the years was creating more miscommunication within Dr. Tavel that we decided to start from scratch.

Buying glasses should be simple. We understand. We know you should be able to walk into glasses store, pick a pair of frames you like, and pay exactly that. However, that’s not normally the case. Instead it goes something like this: you walk into the store, get your eyes examined ($), pick out a pair of frames ($$), then get told your total will be ($$$$). You stand their frustrated and confused. The frames were only $$ how did the cost end up being more? Oh, we forgot to tell you the lenses you got is $$$. You then have to choose different frames to be able to afford the glasses you need.

That’s not fair. You should be allowed to afford the frames you want at the prices you want, which is why Dr. Tavel is happy to announce What You See Is What You Get, or in other words what you see is what you pay.

We have gone in and changed all our pricing. Now your shopping experience for glasses doesn’t have to be a pain in the butt. This is how buying glasses should go: you walk into Dr. Tavel, get your eyes examined, pick the frame you want for $$, and pay $$. That’s right. The cost of the frame includes thinner, impact resistant, non-glare lenses. Multiple prescription types are also included (single vision, lined bifocal, and lined trifocal). Scared your insurance won’t cover your frames? Just ask. Dr. Tavel has the largest selection of insurance covered frames.
