Wonder if you should be diagnosed with chronic dry eye? Some symptoms like persistent scratchiness, burning, or chronic dryness can be signs of the nuisance. Sometimes even excessive watering can be a sign of dry eye. Eyes can overproduce tears after bouts of  dryness in the eye.

So how do you know  if you need prescriptive treatment? Talk to your eye doctor about your symptoms. Some doctors may perform a Schrimer test. For this test, a doctor would place a thin strip of paper under your lower lid to measure tear production.

If you feel like you are suffering from chronic dry eye, stop by one of our convenient Dr. Tavel locations. One of our doctors would be happy to discuss your symptoms. With weekend and evening hours, we are always ready to help.
