If you live or work on the Westside of Indianapolis, you’ve more than likely heard of Rick’s Café Boatyard.  Besides the great food and inviting atmosphere, it’s a great place for lunch or dinner, especially in the warmer seasons because it’s located on Eagle Creek reservoir.

Just yesterday the Dr. Tavel Optical Group celebrated an employee’s 26th anniversary with the company by having lunch at Rick’s Boatyard.  It was the perfect day to dine outside on the lake!  When I pulled up to the restaurant, I realized that I forgot my Purifier® Polarized Sunglasses, so I wore my Barely There® Phat Farm glasses with an orange tint instead.

As I sat there patiently waiting for my chicken salad sandwich, I couldn’t help but look out at the lake and admire the scenery.  It was at that point I was reminded that I was wearing tinted lenses and not Purifier® Polarized lenses because of the reflection of the sun off the water.  On top of that, the colors weren’t as bright and the sailboats in the distance weren’t as sharp.

But it wasn’t a total tragedy, as our food arrived and I switched my focus from the lake to my plate.

The lesson I learned was whenever I plan to have lunch at Rick’s Boatyard or spend time in or around any water, I need to make sure I have my Purifer® Polarized Sunglasses from Dr. Tavel.
