To Do: Eye Exam at Dr. Tavel

I like to do lists. They keep me organized and help me remember important tasks. As we start a new year, I’ve added a task to my list as I do every year: eye exam at Dr. Tavel.

Why get a routine eye exam? Eyes can change quickly. It’s best to catch eye problems early so proper treatment can be administered. The sooner the diagnosis, the more effective the treatment.

As part of your eye exam, Dr. Tavel will check for glaucoma. This eye disease damages the nerves that send information to the brain.  According to AllAboutVision.com, glaucoma creates at least some vision loss in more than half of the approximately 2.5 million Americans estimated to have the eye disease. It is the second-leading cause of blindness in the United States.

Getting a routine eye exam will help detect eye diseases like glaucoma. But finding time to get an exam may be difficult. If you’re like me, your to do list fills up quickly. That’s why I turn to Dr. Tavel for my Indiana eye care needs. All 19 Dr. Tavel locations have evening and weekend hours: perfect for my working schedule. And I can stop by with or without an appointment. Some locations are even open seven days a week.

Worried about the cost of an exam? Don’t be. Many vision insurance plans cover at least part of the cost of a routine eye exam. So, don’t risk your sight. See Dr. Tavel or one of his board certified associates today!
