Yes, all of our eye doctors take ALL Indiana Medicaid plans that come with vision benefits. However, having Medicaid does not mean you have vision coverage. Here’s a general list of different Indiana Medicaid plans that can have vision coverage.  

• Hoosier Care Connect (HCC) 
• Hoosier Healthwise (HHW) 
• Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) 
• Traditional Indiana Medicaid 

Medicaid & Medicare are not the same. 

There is a difference between Medicaid and Medicare. Medicaid is managed by states and is based on income. Medicare is managed by the federal government and is mainly based on age. However, be aware that some plans come without vision coverage. Not sure if your Medicaid plan has vision included? We can look up your plan to determine your eligibility! 

Indiana Medicaid Vision coverage is not immediately active.  

When first activating your Indiana Medicaid plan, coverage for vision and dental is not immediate. It can sometimes take 60-90 days for those benefits to show up. Does Medicaid Cover Contact Lenses?  

Unfortunately, contacts are not covered under most Indiana Medicaid plans. There are a few medical exceptions where contact lenses can be covered, but it’s uncommon and must be approved by your doctor. What does my Indiana Medicaid plan cover? 

Most Medicaid plans cover eye exams, glasses frames, and lenses. However, eye exam frequency, new glasses eligibility, and age requirements are different for each insurance plan.
