I was watching the Cleveland Cavs play the Orlando Magic tonight in game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals and a few things really struck me.  First, and this goes without saying, LeBron James is amazing.  That is one of the best personal performances I have ever seen and that says a lot coming from a hoops junkie.

The second thing, and this one is quite a bit more shocking, was that I was caught off guard by the glasses worn by the Cavs coach, Mike Brown.  It wasn’t so much that I was caught off guard by his rimless glasses and lenses, but that I noticed they were different than the pair he wore in game 4 down in Orlando.  In game four, he was wearing a chunky plastic frame, similar to the Ted Baker line we carry and yet one game later he is wearing a rimless frame similar to the Barely There line of glasses and lenses that we carry at Dr. Tavel Family Eyecare.  It used to be that women were the ones who had multiple pairs of glasses as they were more concerned with fashion eye wear and understood how important it is to match eye wear to clothing and style.  However, more and more I see that men are following this fashion trend and understand the need to have more than one pair of glasses.  Not only is it important to have a black pair to wear with black pants and attire and a brown pair to wear with khakis and neutral tones, but it is also becoming important to break out a different style, like Coach Brown did with the use of fashion chunky frame and a fashionable pair of rimless frames.  When I see that basketball coaches are illustrating the trends of fashion eye wear, I know that it is everywhere.
