It broke my heart to read a story in the Indy Star recently about an accident that could have been easily prevented.

Two weeks ago a 13-year-old girl was crossing the street on the Westside of Indianapolis. Police say the afternoon sun was glaring in the driver’s eyes when she struck and critically injured the young girl. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. as the sun was making its decent.

Accidents like this happen way too often. Last week the sun caused a 50 car pileup in Arlington, Texas. Drivers said the sun’s glare off the wet pavement impaired visibility. This accident also happened during the evening rush hour.

Many sun glare accidents happen in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun is on the horizon. Unfortunately these times are also rush hour which causes more accidents.

The good news is that there is an answer: Purifier® polarized lenses. A significant feature of these lenses is the removal of glare. All other types of lenses address brightness by simply changing its color. But Purifiers® eliminate the problem by providing images that are sharper and clearer and colors that are more vibrant and alive.

Purifier® polarized lenses, available exclusively at Dr. Tavel, not only protect your eyes from dangerous UV rays, but also protect you from the dangers of sun glare. Stop by any Dr. Tavel office for a free demonstration on how Purifier® lenses can make things clearer and sharper for you.
