KEEPING PATIENTS SAFE FROM COVID-19

Your health and well-being are our top priorities when visiting Dr. Tavel. We know that the coronavirus has caused concerns, and we want to highlight the precautions we are taking to ensure your safety during your visit:

Clean offices, SPEC-tacular care.

  1. In addition to cleaning each frame after it is tried on, we are continually cleaning all surfaces, frames, and clinical equipment with disinfectant to maintain the highest level of cleanliness.
  2. Our staff is implementing and complying with CDC and ISDH recommended hygiene practices. We also provide additional hand sanitizer and wipes for patients to use.
  3. We are asking our clients who are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath to reschedule their appointments.

3 Things to know about the coronavirus & your eyes

According to All About Vision, here are some precautions to take to lower your risk of coming into contact with COVID-19.

  1. The virus can easily spread through contact with your eye. Avoid touching your face and wash your hands regularly.
  2. Pink eye symptoms could be an indicator of the virus. Pink eye, also called viral conjunctivitis can present with upper respiratory infections like the cold and flu and may be a symptom of the coronavirus.
  3. Opt for glasses, not contacts. If you wear contact lenses, consider wearing glasses to avoid unnecessary eye touching. If you prefer contacts, make sure you’re following the proper steps to keeping your contacts clean.
