Working in advertising and marketing one of my responsibilities is to come up with new offers and promotions that will appeal to customers. As a rule of thumb I always place a certain amount of hierarchy on the headline, message and the offer. But with all offers, especially coupons, I have to make sure that I include the “fine print.”

As we age, fine print seems to shrink. However, outside of the designer physically decreasing the point or pixel size, what really happens is presbyopia — the eye losing its ability to change focus.
