If an identical frame is not available, a frame of equal or lesser value can be selected. The Cartier manufacturer’s warranty is separate from the warranty that is provided by Dr. Tavel. If the damage is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, the copay would not apply. The Cartier manufacturer warranty is very limited. Any normal wear and tear of the frame could void manufacturer’s warranty. Dr. Tavel will make every e ort to use the manufacturer’s warranty when appropriate, but cannot override Cartier’s warranty decisions.

Cartier Care

Cartier frames that are not made of horn, wood, or leather should be cleaned regularly with slightly soapy water, rinsed with clean water, and wiped dry with the Cartier cleaning cloth or another soft cloth.

When not being worn, your Cartier must be kept in a clean and dry place within a normal temperature range.

If your glasses are exposed to an extreme environment, they must be cleaned.

Wood or leather frame:

  • You must avoid contact with water, greasy substances, make-up or any type of cleaning product. The lenses should be wiped with a Cartier cleaning cloth or another soft cloth. Wood and leather both gain a patina, a sheen produced by age and wear over time, and do not need any particular care.
  • Never adjust ore repair a frame of the lenses. This must be done at an authorized Cartier dealer.

Horn Frame:

  • Genuine horn must be cleaned with the natural oils in the jar that is given with the frame an average of two or three times a year depending on the conditions of wear. Cleaning the frame with the oil will allow the frame to retain its natural sparkle and will prevent drying of the material. To clean it properly, coat the temples with the cream supplied by Cartier and rub it o  gently with a soft cloth. The cream will not cause any damage to the metallic components and lenses of the frame. Horn frames must avoid contact with water or detergents, exposure to extreme and excessive temperatures, or cleaning with a degreasing product.
