Dr. Karen Norrick began her career as an optometrist in 2001 and has been practicing at Dr. Tavel since 2022. Dr. Norrick graduated with a BS in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin, and a Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. She is an expert in ocular disease and is AOA and IOA certified. She currently serves as a board member for Volunteer Optometrists Serving Humanity (VOSH) of Ohio.
As a longtime member of VOSH, Dr. Norrick is passionate about providing vision care to those in poverty-stricken, third world countries. As such, at least once a year she participates in mission trips to provide this care. In the past 15 years, Dr. Norrick has served those in 13 countries, including Haiti, Nicaragua, Panama, Guyana, and Peru.
In her free time, Dr. Norrick enjoys spending time with her three active teenagers who keep her very busy running from soccer to cross country to band to competitive horse shows. When she is not doing that, she enjoys cycling and reading.
