CooperVision has issued a recall of a limited number of Avaira Toric and Avaira Sphere contact lenses after reports of wearers experiencing hazy vision and discomfort. If you experience unusual discomfort with your Avaira lenses, remove them immediately and contact your eye doctor. CooperVision has issued a recall of a limited number of Avaira Toric and Avaira Sphere contact lenses after reports of wearers experiencing hazy vision and discomfort.

If you experience unusual discomfort with your Avaira lenses, remove them immediately and contact your eye doctor. According to the company’s website, the recall was issued due to the level of a silicone oil reside on certain Avaira lenses.

CooperVision released the following statement concerning the recall: “We sincerely apologize to those customers who have experienced problems with the affected lenses or have the affected lenses in their possession. CooperVision has more than 30 years of experience manufacturing high quality contact lenses, and we take our consumers’ eye health and safety very seriously. We strive to ensure all wearers have a positive experience with our products.”
