Looking for a New Year’s resolution? How about improving your eye health? The gift of sight is a terrible thing to waste. Here are some ideas to improve your eye health in 2013!

Eat Smart – You’d be surprised how far fruits and veggies can go to help your eyes.

Get Moving – More physical activity reduces risks for glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Quit Smoking – This could be a resolution all its own! Smoking increases likelihood of developing cataracts, macular degeneration, uveitis, and diabetic retinopathy.

Protect Your Eyes from the Sun – UV rays are harmful no matter the time of the year. Wearing Purifier Polarized Lenses will block 100% of UV rays reducing your risk for cataracts and macular degeneration.

Schedule Your Annual Exam – Don’t wait until it is too late; your optometrist can screen for diabetes and hypertension while you are there.

Reduce Computer Eye Strain – Relieve computer vision syndrome with the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Properly Care for Your Contact Lenses – Expired contacts can cause serious damage and infections to your eyes. Remember to change them when you are supposed to and use the correct solution.

These are just a few ways you can make sure that you won’t miss out on seeing anything great in 2013. Take care of your eyes and they will take care of you!
