We know that there may be questions from our regular contact lens wearers, and how the coronavirus will affect your daily life, including safe contact lens practices and supply. So we wanted to update you on contact lens wear and COVID-19.

Can I keep wearing my contacts?

Yes, you can keep wearing your contacts, as long as they’re handled properly. That means wash your hands thoroughly before putting your contacts in. Make sure you’re properly disinfecting your contacts with a multi-purpose solution, not saline. Make sure you are also disposing of your contact lenses according to your doctor’s instructions.

If you wear daily, biweekly, or monthly lenses, make sure you are disposing of your contact lenses according to your doctor’s instructions in the correct time frame.

Discontinue wearing lenses if you are sick.

If you become sick we do recommend you discontinue contact lens wear whether it is the flu or coronavirus as a good eye health practice. It’s also good practice to regularly disinfect your frames if you switch to glasses.
