As Thanksgiving rolls around my thoughts turn to the many blessings in my life. People are everything to me. My husband, family, friends and coworkers enrich my life with so much joy.
One blessing I often take for granted is my (relatively good) health. I am a firm believer in preventative care like a yearly physical at the doctor’s office and an annual eye exam. I can’t stress enough the importance of good health.
I know you may be apprehensive about visiting your eye doctor, but rest assured that an eye exam is noninvasive. I like to think of an eye exam as the first line of defense. Did you know that your Indiana eye doctor can find nearly 40 systemic diseases just by looking in your eyes? Diseases they can detect include common ones like high blood pressure and diabetes.
While you’re counting your blessings this Thanksgiving, know that everyone at Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care is thankful for you and we wish you and your family all the best! I’ll leave you with one of my favorite Thanksgiving quotes: “Thanksgiving, after all, is a word of action.” What are you thankful for?
