Meet the Drs.
Dr. Steven I. Ball, OD, received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry and his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. As a member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), he has been helping improve the conditions in Honduras for the last 20 years. Dr. Ball has been working with Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 28 years and can be seen at our Bloomington and Greenwood locations.
Dr. Marilyn Burich, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Evansville and received her Doctorate of Optometry in 1995 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Dr. Burich has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 13 years and she can be seen at several locations.
Dr. Aaron Case, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Manchester College. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 2006. Dr. Case started with Dr. Tavel Optical Group in 2007 and works in our South Bend and Elkhart locations.
Dr. Lloyd Dewar, OD, received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 1971. Dr. Dewar has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 14 years and can be seen at our Terre Haute office on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Dr. Brooks Dooley, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science and received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. Dr. Dooley received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1959. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and also the Indiana Optometric Association. Dr. Dooley has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 25 years and can be seen at our Indianapolis, Chapel Hill location.
Dr. Ganhan Ewers, OD, holds an Associates of Science from the Indiana University School of Optometry. She was certified from the American Board of Opticianry in 1991, and then received her Bachelor of Science in General Studies from IU. Dr. Ewers received her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 1995. She has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 13 years and works primarily at our Lafayette Road location in Indianapolis.
Dr. James Fechtman, OD, received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. Dr. Fechtman graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1982. He has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 21 years and can be seen in our Columbus, Indiana location.
Dr. James Hartill, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science and his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. Dr. Hartill graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1998. He has been practicing in our Shelbyville office for almost 10 years.
Dr. Regina Harvey, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marian College and her Doctorate of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry. She received her Doctorate in 1997. Dr. Harvey is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and The Central Indiana Optometric Association. Dr. Harvey has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for six years and can be seen at our East Street location in Indianapolis.
Dr. Jennifer Houseknecht, OD, received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Valparaiso University in 1992. She then studied and received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1996. Dr. Houseknecht started working with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group in 2006. She can be seen primarily in our South Bend, IN, office and occasionally in our Elkhart, IN office.
Dr. Robert "Bob" Seay II, OD, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. He started working with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group in 2008 and can be seen at many of our different locations.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson O.D. received her Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University and her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. Dr. Johnson has been working for the Doctor Tavel Optical group in New Castle since July 2009.
Dr. Jackie M. Jones, OD, attended and received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry and his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University and received his Doctorate in 1990. Dr. Jones has been working with Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 4 years and can primarily be seen at our Muncie, IN, location.
Dr. Anna Kilroy, OD, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Sociology from Indiana University. Dr. Kilroy received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2006 from Indiana University School of Optometry. She started with Dr. Tavel Optical Group in 2006 and can be seen in several of our Indianapolis, IN locations.
Dr. Megan Lehman, OD, received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University and received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2007. She started with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group in early 2008 and can be seen in our Elkhart, IN location.
Dr. Michael S. McCoy, OD, holds an Associates of Science in Optometric Technology with Distinction, a Bachelor’s of Science in Optometry, and Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. Dr. McCoy has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 8 years and can be seen in our Terre Haute location.
Dr. Heidi Park, OD, received her Bachelor of Vision Science from Ferris State University in Michigan. Dr. Park received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2006. She has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group since 2006 and can be seen primarily at our 10th and Mitthoeffer location and several other Indianapolis locations.
Dr. I.J. Regenstreif, MD, received a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University in 1965. He then studied at the Indiana University School of Medicine from 1965-1969. Dr. Regenstreif served as a Captain in the Army during the Vietnam War. He has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 10 years and can be seen at our Kokomo, IN location.
Dr. J. Scott Schmutzler, OD, holds his Bachelor of Science and his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. He graduated with his Doctorate in 1981 and has been working with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 27 years and can be seen at our newly built Greenwood Mall location.
Dr. David Seay, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1987. He has been working with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group since early 2006 and can be seen at several Indianapolis, IN locations.
Dr. Monté Sparks, OD, received his Bachelor of Science in Optometry and his Doctorate of Optometry from The Indiana University School of Optometry. He received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1973 and has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 24 years. Dr. Sparks can be seen in our Anderson, IN location.
Dr. Alan Tavel, OD, holds a Bachelor of Science and his Doctorate of Optometry from University of Alabama at Birmingham. He graduated with his Doctorate in 1973 and has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 35 years. He can be seen at our Richmond, IN location.
Dr. Nancy Wagoner-Stovall, OD, received her Bachelor of Science and her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University. She graduated with her Doctorate in 1996 and has been with the Dr. Tavel Optical Group for 12 years. She can be seen at several of our Indianapolis, IN locations.
